Cleanups

Creating a healthier river and ecosystem requires direct, hands-on action to remove trash from the water and along the shoreline. Joining a cleanup is not only a fun way to meet like-minded people who share a vision for a cleaner, healthier river, but also a meaningful way to make a difference.

EcoTours

Join us on the water for a guided EcoTour of the Hutchinson River. Enjoy the river’s beauty while learning about its history, ecological significance, wildlife, and HRRP’s current restoration efforts to address long-standing environmental challenges.

Tours are typically offered on weekend mornings from June through October. New dates are added regularly. If you have a group of five and would like to schedule a weekday tour, or if you would like to learn more, please email us at hutchinsonriver@gmail.com.

Community Gatherings

To help build a strong community of stewards along the river, HRRP hosts and participates in community gatherings from Scarsdale to the Bronx. Join us for a river walk, attend one of our library presentations, come to a film screening, or stop by and say hello to our team at a farmers market. If you’re interested in learning more, we want to meet you!

Winter Walks

Every winter, we explore the trails along the Hutchinson River, sharing information about local history, ecology, and ways to protect our natural resources. We’ve visited Nature Study Woods, Willson's Woods, Pelham Bay Park, Split Rock, and more. Check back soon for dates and locations. We’d love to walk with you!

Invasives Removal

Volunteer to help remove invasive plants and litter along the Hutchinson River shoreline. This hands-on activity is a great way for families and community members of all ages to spend time outdoors together, learning about the ecosystem while making a positive impact on the local environment. Check our event page to see if we have any Invasive Removals planned!
