EPA Responds to Hutchinson River Spill

A viral video from Two Feet Outdoors showing an unknown liquid flowing into the Hutchinson River led to an EPA investigation, which confirmed the discharge came from an SRM Concrete facility.

Working with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, inspectors cited the facility for violations and issued an order requiring immediate corrective actions.

SRM Concrete stated they quickly contained the situation and are cooperating with authorities, adding they’re committed to full compliance and reducing their environmental impact.

This incident underscores the need for public awareness and continued protection of the Hutchinson River—a vital local natural resource.
